You don't say why you have a PM, but shortness of breath is one symptom of most heart diseases, so you may still be feeling that.  The fact that you feel better on the way home suggests that the PM is doing its business.

I gave up smoking at the same time as I had my PM implanted and have have noticed an ever increasing improvement in my breathing over the last 4 months.  You're only in your first week post PM implantation and your body will be undergoing lots of changes, but as the weeks go by, I'm sure you'll be grateful for those changes.

Best wishes

Graham.

Martyn considering you have had a heart procedure, cut open, leads attached to your heart ,I think you have done extraordinarily well, Don't push yourself too hard, recovery is NOT a race, all the best for 2020 & your continued recovery.

The pacer systems are really very reliable. The main problem is the incompetent programming of them. If yours is working well for you, get on with life and enjoy it. You probably are more at risk of problems with a valve job than the pacer.
