Any ideas don't think I'm having the leads changed but not 100%!! Any ideas from people who have had this done thanks Carl

Where you work - dirt etc. - should have no bearing on infection around your PM implant site

The team preparing you for the replacement PM should have taken steps to ensure that you aren't a Staph Aureus carrier, will use several stages of skin prep to ensure that your skin is as sterile as possible before making the incision to remove and replace your PM.

Then they will cover the skin wound with a sterile dressing which they will probably tell you to leave alone for seven days, and only then to allow running water near the healing wound.

There's no reason why you couldn't return to work the next day after the replacement, if you wanted to - depends slightly on upper body movement requirements for your job.

They won't be replacing your lead(s) unless this has been discussed and planned for some time.  Box replacement is pretty simple: lead replacement is much more complicated.

I had leads extracted at the Cleveland Clinic 2 years ago.  One of their instructions was to shower with Hibiclens the night before the procedure.

You know you're wired when...

You have a T-shirt that reads “Wired4Sound”.
