1st checkup

I had a Medtronic Novas implanted 30 days ago and just had my first checkup. Battery voltage is 2.78 volts. One of the leads has 623 ohms resistance and the other has 1205 ohms resistance. Do these numbers sound ok?
Many thanks

1st checkup

Hi Kenz. I'm not sure whether the measures mean the same thing from one manufacturer/model of PM and leads to another. You should ask your doctor or technician or call Medtronic. But for what it's worth, I had a Medtronic Adapta implanted 2 months ago. My battery voltage is also 2.78 volts, and my latest ohms/impedance readings were 651 and 527 on my two leads. My cardiac nurse/technician said "we like to see readings between 500 and 1000". Did they give you a printout of the interrogation report? If so does it say "OK" in the "Lead Status" column? As I understand it, this can be a measure of both the degree to which the lead tips are properly situated within your heart muscle to transmit a pulse sufficiently, as well as any lead fractures or other kinks in the leads. I'd call the doctor's office to inquire. I hope your recovery is going well -- you're almost finished with the 6 weeks of limitations on arm movements -- yippeee! Cathryn

1st Checkup

Thanks for answering the question that i didn't ask: My arm and shoulder are very painful but I thought it was something else. Guess it goes with the pacer.

Uncomfortable

Well it's been 4 months since I had the pacer installed and i feel pretty good except that several times a day i'll get a stinging sensation at the pacer which can best be described like putting alcohol on a cut finger. No pain, just that feeling which lasts a few seconds. Does anyone else get that?
thanks

I finished 29th in London in 2 hours 20 minutes 30 seconds which is my fastest with or without a device so clearly it didn’t slow me down ! I had no problems apart from some slight chaffing on my scar - more Vaseline next time.
