Low heart rate

Posting much information to explain condition. Enter hospital three months ago. Low heart rate (30’s) 3.6sec.pause with pvc’s bradycardia.

I had surgery( electrophysioligist)does an ablation(pvc’s) and pacemaker same day. Pacemaker set for 80bpm . After three weeks, pulse reads 80 each early morn. And dropsto 50’s and stays there rest of day even when doing yard work. Why doesn’t pacemakerraise pulse to my working heart rate? Do you feel that pacemaker needs to be adjusted? Doctor says that maybe look for more pvc’s

withanother ablation.  Anyone with any ideas? Thanks

How are you counting 50? If it's a machine, try counting manually. If you are set for a min of 80, you should never be anywhere close to 50.

If your rate is not going up on exertion, they can adjust the pacer to help that.

Are you the same person as Sgtsemperfi?

PVS's will definitely futz with pulse rate, sometimes making it difficult to count the pulse even manually, since a PVC counts as a beat, but might be so weak as to be imperciptible in the exrtremities.

But--as I told Sgtsemperfi--what matters is not what the numbers say. What matters is how you feel.

So, my advice is to go about your daily routine and forget that you have a pacemaker implanted in your body.
