I have two children, both born after being paced, no complications or special monitoring. Having a pacer has nothing to do with the ability to have kids. The underlying heart condition may make it more challenging, that's a question for your doctor. In my case, my heart couldn't have handled a pregnancy without the pacer, so the pacer made it possible by giving me a normal heart rate. My cardiologist and OB had a conversation early on so everyone was on the same page. Cardiologists don't have pregnant patients very often and OB's don't have paced patients so it's good for them to talk.

Yes you can

I have had one child and am currently pregnant with my second since having a pacemaker put in 2011 when I was 27. It’s not common for someone with a pacemaker to have a child but with some monitoring and precautions It is safe.

You have a little piece of high-tech in your chest.
