new pacemaker

Just joined club, i am getting my first pacemaker next friday, 6/28.

...but you also have to work hard to get/stay healthy. Diet and exercise. Research and understanding. Partner with your providers.

Some anxiety is not surprising of course, but if it reassures you: these operations are so common that for 99.9% of us they are completely routine, and done in around 90 minutes.  When I had mine inserted, although it was mostly under local anaesthetic I was asleep for most of the op, and started to wake up a little as they were finishing.  The surgeon was chatting to the anaesthetist about a business opportunity he was thinking about, so I knew all had gone well!

Wishing you nothing but the best. Only one suggestion. Give the pacemaker time to sync with your heart.EP told us that we would be able to take a planned cruise two weeks after implantation. Wrong... Glad that we cancelled. It took 6-8 weeks before feeling almost normal and that was after three visits to see cardio doc and st Jude tech. Just take it step by step.
