I am a healthy woman who had pacemaker put in a week ago. Had some discomfort and a low grade fever for a few days but very manageable. Blood tests yesterday show anemia. Is this common? Should I be concerned? Waiting to see what doctor says but wanted to ask in this forum.

My doctor put me on iron pills. She is not overly concerned as my blood tests were normal in December when I had a complete physical and pre op as well. She wants to see me in a month. I may have a virus. Who knows? Wait and see I guess. But I feel okay which is a good sign. Thanks for your comment.

Unless you had an inordinate amount of bleeding during the surgery, nothing about getting a pacemaker can cause anemia. All a pacer does is make the heart beat faster. What does our doctor say?
