Hey all -
Got my PM put in subpec a little over two months ago. Lately (when I’m sitting or laying down), I have felt the pacemaker kick in, almost to the point where I feel like I could lunge across the room it kicks in so strongly. The other day, I was sitting eating and about fell out of my chair it kicked in so hard, and was close to passing out. Has this happened to anyone?
Yesterday, the area was also very swollen. It’s down today, but my left side right under my incision was puffed up almost like a mound.
Wondering if anyone has insight!

Tracey is right, that isn’t normal. They say you aren’t supposed to feel it at all but when I first got mine, I felt it everytime it kicked on too and it was strong but I don’t think what you’re feeling is normal. It was strong enough to notice but not strong enough to really effect me. Don’t let them blow it off saying you’ll just get used to it. I think you need to go to an ER And have them check your leads!!

That doesn't sound like pacing. Not sure what it is, but pacers don't send a signal that strong. A lead could be dislodged. The swelling could be an infection.
