Improved Pacemaker Replacements

I'm on my forth pacemaker and it will need to be replaced in the next two years.  All previous paceamkers had a problem responidng to transients like running uphill.  My current minute ventilation two lead pacemaker will support constant exercise but responds slowly to abrupt demand changes.  In the last five years has anyone solved this generic problem?

Ideally what I'd want is a device that accelerated quickly to increases in breathing rate or G level and ever so slowly decelerated when the subject stopped to catch his breath.  My current problem is if I run or ski uphill very fast I get breathless BEFORE I reach the maximum setting (170 bpm) and resting resets the pacemaker to the resting pulse rate almost immediately.  These faults are not apparent when I exercise at a constan load.

My pacemaker was installed in 1998 and I have not felt better. The mental part is the toughest.
