Tightness in chest after drinking/eating

Hello everyone! Today marks 1 week since my implantation. My new lil friend andI are still in the getting to know phase.

Wondering if anyone has experienced this before, everytime I eat even a spoonfull ortake a sip of water, I get this moving tight feelibg in the middle of my chest. Like air moving, andcan be quite painful.  If anyone has, what did you do toget relief? Or does it eventually go away as recovery continues?

Thank yiu!

Thank you for the advise. I will definitely discuss when I see them on Monday. It just seems like it is everything right now, including water. Im experimenting in the meantime with small bites and sips 🙂

GERD?

2 days after my implant, I was back at the ER with terrible chest pain.  Turns out it was GERD - really bad indigestion - brought on by stress.  Can't imagine why I was so stressed!  Everything I put in my mouth gave me what felt like bad gas or very full stomach.  The pain was quickly alleviated, but the "feeling" remains.  I'm eating Tumms like candy, but they do help.  Maybe that's what you have too?

Felt like gas build-up

I also experienced this post-op (installed 11/30/18). I couldn’t eat much because I instantly felt full and no matter what consistency I consumed it felt the same (tried purées in the hospital to no avail). Water, and other fluids did the same. I had to sip the water or Gatorade and suck on ice chips. Once I was able to sit up more to eat in a better position and belch/relieve the pressure build-up, I had some relief but not total. While the pain was directly at my heart and center of chest, it felt so much better to burp. Being home now, my diet is still minimal but the relief is getting better each day. My doctor did not change or prescribe anything to resolve this issue, he just said to watch for drastic weight loss or gain (5+/- lbs in one week). I hope you find relief soon.

I thought I was going crazy

SamanthaS and 2young4this, I’m so sorry you experienced it as well. Selfishly, at least I now know I wasn’t going nuts. Tumms for sure became an after meal treat, so SamanthaS you might be right. And as I continue to experiment with food and amount, I’m learning more about what doesn’t sit well. Smaller bites and sips of liquid really helps a lot. 2young4this, I wish you a speedy recovery.
