Entresto Part 2

I visited our locally popular and busy pharmacy today to pick up a couple items.  I asked to see the pharmacist regarding if she has seen others having side effects with Entresto use as I had before I stopped its use.. Her reply: "To be honest, we can count on one hand the number of Rx's for Entresto we've filled this year." HMMMM.......interesting!

Where's part 1?

by BOBTHOM - 2018-11-30 09:24:29

I just discontinued use of Entresto but may rechallenge myself next week to try it again.  It seemed to accentuate my abnormal heart rhythm along with the normal beats.  I have a lot of pvc's, ectopic beats, missed beats, etc.  So, though the normal beats where good and stronger, when I dropped a beat or had a PVC it felt like my heart was jumping out of my chest. I also had frequent urination and then diahrea.  Some may have been a stomach bug which is why I'm going to try it again after a week and a half break.   What were your symptoms?

Part 1

My initiation to Entresto went like this: I weaned off of lisinoril, and 36 hrs later I began Entresto use.  Couple three days later, I drove wife to her clinic for an appt.  I pulled into a parking spot, shut the engine off and could tell a he-man dizzy event was starting. Hanging onto the car's door wasn't good enough - I had no sense of balance. World wasn't spinning, I had no equilibrium. Wife fentched a wheelchair and wheeled me into the clinic.  Maybe I should have had her wheel me into the ER at the hospital next door!  If this dizzy spell began 10 minutes earlier - when I was traveling 75 MPH on the Interstate - things coulda been exciting!  Took me a couple hours to return to normal. I proceeded to trash the Entresto, restart lisinopril, and have not had another episode.  I was hounded by Entresto Reps for a few days afterward with them whining, "Why? Why?

Entresto

I weaned off lisinopril much like you, stopped taking it for 36 hours and then started with the lowest dose of entresto (24/26) twice a day. That was in February this year. After about 6 weeks and a blood test my doc raised me to the 49/51 dose twice a day. I'm still on it and havent had any ill effects. I feel good and my cardiac function has improved. Could be you just cant tolerate Entresto.
