Still always tired

It has been 3 weeks since my pacemaker implantation. (Oct. 26th 2018) I still feel extremely tired at all times. Yes, it did fix my abnormal heart rythm, but I was guaranteed relif of fatigue. I am yet to feel that. Please tell me what I can do about this or something that may help me cope.

Hey Justin, I had my pacemaker implanted on Aug 18, 2018 and must say this week is the first week I have felt not fatigued.  It probably is different for different folks, but I would not be alarmed, give it some time and then maybe check it out.  When I went for my 8 week check up at the heart clinic, they said all was good and the pacemaker was not working too hard and that the energy factor would improve.

Wait until you go for first major check up....

When you go for your first major check, if you're still feeling fatigued they may be able to kick up the lower pacing rate.  You'll find it takes some time to get the settings just right for you.  And then you'll be fine until the next device or some major change in your condition.

Fatigue

It took me about three months, to feel life returning. Before "Sparky" I was on a couple of "heart sedatives" ...to regulate a fib and arrhythmias .  It took about 3 months to feel like the fog was finally lifting!  7 months later and can actually forget I have it.

You know you're wired when...

Your life has spark.

I had a pacemaker when I was 11. I never once thought I wasn't a 'normal kid' nor was I ever treated differently because of it. I could do everything all my friends were doing; I just happened to have a battery attached to my heart to help it work.
