Feeling your heart beating

Your profile doesn't say why you had a pacemaker inserted, but presumably it was because your heart wasn't working right. With the pacemaker now making it beat reliably, it is no wonder that you can now feel it, though part of this may well be an increased awareness following something new happening to you.
You will see your pacemaker guru very soon for the initial checkup, when they will review the standard settings and see how you are doing, and they will probably make some adjustments. Try and take someone with you for this, so that they can make notes, and also write down your questions for them so that you don't forget to ask something.
My other tip would be to rub Bio Oil into the scar once it has physically healed, ie probably about six weeks after the op. Do this daily, if you can, for a few months and the scar almost completely disappears.

Thank you, but my first check up is 3 months away, if it doesn't settle soon i'll be getting in touch with pacing clinic. I had pacemaker due to sick sinus syndrome, heart flutter and low heart rate .
Three months for first checkup?

That seems a long time to me. Might be worth asking for an earlier appointment.

As for my pacemaker (almost 7 years old) I like to think of it in the terms of the old Timex commercial - takes a licking and keeps on ticking.
Im newhere too

Hi im new on site but had my pm implanted about 18 months ago. I well remember struggling in the first few months. The bruising looks hideous but it will fade with time. I also had a lot of discomfort to start with as I had a problem with my shoulder when I went under the knife. As it healed I had a lot of itching and feeling like ants nipping. The scar seemed huge. Just follow the advice youve been givdn at the clinic, take mild painkillers if you need to and give yourself lots of tlc. Now 18mths on the scar is tiny and my problem is remembering I have a pm inserted. If you have any worries contact your clinic, I aways found the staff really helpful and supportive. Good luck, this time will pass and you will soon feel so much better.
