I was speaking with wife's friend this evening. Her hunsband has congestive heart failure. Her husband sees a cardiologist I had seen a few years ago. I wasn't impressed with this cardiologist and went elseware. She said nothing regarding A-Fib. When I asked about her husband's ejection fraction, she was confused. Their current Doc. spoke of numbers in the "thousand's" and she did not understand. I told her to make another appt. with her hubby's Doc and get a CLEAR explanation. I explained the normal EF % #, and what is considered "low." I also told her of a cardiologist at the Mayo Clnic in Rochester, MN who is considered the top cardiologist in the USA - Dr. Margaret Redfield, and the best thing she could do for her husband is book an appt. with Dr. Redfield - she can do so online.

Good Cardiologists

It took me 4 tries before I got a realy good cardiologist who cared about me & was willing to work in partnership with me to management my cardiomyopathy. Just b/c someone is a cardiologist doesn't mean they are good or speak the language you need to hear. You are trying to save your life so partner up with someone you trust & have confidence in. It could mean the difference in living a long, quality life.

I am not planning on letting any of this shorten my life. I am planning on living a long happy battery operated life. You never know maybe it will keep me alive longer. I sure know one thing I would have been dead before starting school without it.

aren't you the same guy who decided to cut his Metoprolol in half and is complaining about palpitations? Are you really the best to give medical advice ?
Quite frankly, it is far more likely that the wife just had no idea what the Cardiologist was saying as opposed to the doctor being wrong.
