Just got a pacemaker 48 hours ago. My neck is stiff. Tylenol helps. My question - how long will it be until I get used to my " new" heart rate. I have parasmoxyl afi b and sick sinus syndrome. I have a 2 lead pm. I do feel better aready. The "lead legs" are better. I'm just anxious regarding recovery. I did not expect such a long recovery time, after reading lots from your website. Should I just be patient?

Congratulations. Healing is individual, and I'm not a physician so I can't tell you when you will get used to your new heartrate. Anxiety at this stage seems completely normal to me. I've certainly experienced it!
Don't become too worried or upset about forum posts & replies: lots of helpful information, but if you let yourself dwell on people's negative stories you will only be more anxious. Try to go forward with a positive attitude.

In fact after the final "tweaks" of my pacemaker programming at the one year check up it is working so well that I forget I have it.

I want to apologize to the two people who replied to your post! I tried to delete the duplicate post but accidentally got the one that had the replies. So, uh, can the two of you please post again? SORRY!!!!
Ask your doctor, but as long as we don't do anything strenuous with the left arm, it's often ok to resume mild activity immediately. I was out walking the day I got home. Most of us feel better within a week, 4-6 weeks to fully recover with no residual soreness.
