Hi all,
I hope this doesn’t sound too ridiculous? I’m new to this forum & newly diagnosed with Mobitz 2 AV Block & I’m awaiting a date to have a pacemaker fitted. I’m 52 with no known cardiac history. I’m fit and well except severe osteoarthritis. I was just wondering whether this heart block might just simply rectify itself in time without a pacemaker?
Also is it inevitable I’ll develop worsening symptoms without one? If so what should I watch out for in the meantime? My consultant gave me his email address to report any ‘symptoms’ to him so he could expediate an earlier procedure for me if required.
I attended for a heart MRI & perfusion scan yesterday in order to try & exclude any ‘infitrative cardiac disease’.
Thank you in advance 🤔

No, unless this is an acute condition caused by a virus (that will go away), this isn't going to get better. It will get worse. That's the way these things go. Sorry.
Mobitz-II is particularly nasty in that it can develop into complete heart block very quickly. When it does, it's common that there is no escape rhythm, so without a pacemaker you may not survive. The good news is that a pacemaker will fix this problem very quickly. You're young, sure, but there is no such thing as "too young for a pacemaker".
You're too young for severe osteoarthritis, too, but here we are. Trust me, a pacemaker is a walk in the park in comparison. You'll be fine.
You know you're wired when...

Hello and welcome. My heart decided it was too tired to work any longer when I was just 52 as well. Heart block, Bradycardia and a few other issues. I received my dual pacemaer on my wedding anniversary! I was so happy when I woke up because I felt like a million bucks. I was ready to have a nice dinner and dance. That hadn't happened in a long while. It was good to have my strength back.
Wishing you all the best!
p.s. I'm 65 now!
