I just had a 2 lead Medtronic pacemaker implanted on my right side yesterday. He put it on the right because I am left handed. Thr Dr. also removed my biotronic monitor implant, which was on my left side. I am having a lot of pain in the middle of my chest and it hurts when I take a deep breath. I slept in my recliner because I couldn't get comfortable. Any suggestions?

Are you icing? That will help with pain. Don't be afraid to take something OTC if you need it. Some get by fine without, others need a little help. I'ts easier to stay ahead of the pain than let it get bad and try to get it under control. Moving around helps too. The more you sit, the more stiff you'll get.
Pain is one thing, having trouble breathing is different. That warrants a call to ask if they want to see you.

How long does it take to feeling better and getting back to your normal activities? I am having some pain right below where the pacemaker was implanted. I am very active 73 year old and I have always been fairly healthy. This pacemaker was a surprise to me.

Everyone is different. For me, by the end of the first week I was mostly back to what I'd been doing before, but moving more slowly and napping a lot. 3-4 weeks for fully back to normal.
You know you're wired when...
Your pacemaker interferes with your electronic scale.

I finished 29th in London in 2 hours 20 minutes 30 seconds which is my fastest with or without a device so clearly it didnt slow me down ! I had no problems apart from some slight chaffing on my scar - more Vaseline next time.
Suggestions?

You've already found my solution. I slept in a recliner for two months following my pacemaker implant, earlier this year. It was five months following my bypass surgery, four years ago. Recliners work.
