My body temperature

I received my pacemaker exactly 20 days ago.  Before then, I was always cold.  Now I can't get cool enough.   I flush just as if I'm going through menopause.  I get hot and sweaty, while my forehead still feels cool.  Has this happened to anyone else?

Yeah it happens

Yeah, it happens.  You went from a slower heartbeat with not as much blood flowing and your body got used to that.  Now you have a faster heartbeat, you're getting more oxygen, more blood is flowing, and you feel like a furnace.  Since you're getting more oxygen some people report feelings of euphoria - kinda like being on an adrenaline high.  Eventually your body adjusts and you go back to feeling normal.

I had to go to a short sleeved top when sleeping at night.  If I wear a long sleeved top I'll  just sweat all night.  Compared to what I went through before I had my pacemaker I'll take it.

So unless you have a fever and chills which is an indication of an infection, what you're feeling does happen to some people.

Hope everything else is going well for you.

Oh dear

TheKnotGuy -- oh dear, my AF (I suspect) already makes me run hot - my partner remarks that he never needs a hot water bottle at night!  If (as I hope) my circulation improves as my heartbeat gets more efficient, he'll be able to fry an egg on me until things settle down.

GrandmaHoneyBuns, let us know if it settle down -- my PM gets turned on in three weeks time and I'd love to know, so I can get the ice packs prepared :)
