Hello Fellow Pacers!
I am very glad to have found the Pacemaker Club website and have felt great comfort when browsing at all the available experience. You have the procedure and you go home with very little practical support.
PM insertion end Aug 2018 for AV node that blocks some pulses at rest but works well on exercise. My resting pulse was 48 bpm average now 68 with the PM. But this is not a question about the PM and settings..
Post surgery a after 30 mins developed a large haematoma "as a tennis ball" one nurse said. Heavy manual pressure used to stop the bleeding, presumably from one of the wire insertions into the vein? Agony for me, during pressure felt intense very focused pain in arm pit like a hot needle.
Fast forward. Came home and began to experience sciatica type pain down inside of left arm. Has continued for 18 days, worse in fact agony if I go walking . This is nurological , nerve trapped or damaged. Does this happen to some Pacers, ? Pain is reducing somewhat but I am worried about permenant nerve damage.
Also huge haematoma left side of body rib cage to spine, breastbone to groin. but not so worried about that.
Would greatlt appreciate any comments about poss nerve damage. I know that 4 vital nerves are plaited on top of one of the veins they use
Many thanks to anybody

I live in the UK . So its the (in)famous NHS. The Pacemaker Club registration page has a dropdown menu listing the US states, could not find other countries options,! It wont let you type in the box. It must have been left on Hawaii...I will try to find out how to edit my profile.
More important is to find out how common nerve pain/damage is....and what to do
Have returned to the hosp where the surgery was done...was told by senior surgeon that the problem was "not common" Spent 6 hours waiting in an A&E at another hospital,..staffed by junior doctors......no help there
Go to another A & E

I agree with Nicey: this sounds serious, and the haematoma may well be related to the pain. It is a shame it is now the weekend, when fewer senior doctors are on duty, but I would go to a different A & E at your nearest large hospital (Wythenshawe?) ASAP.
You know you're wired when...
You have a new body part.

The pacer systems are really very reliable. The main problem is the incompetent programming of them. If yours is working well for you, get on with life and enjoy it. You probably are more at risk of problems with a valve job than the pacer.
Are You in the UK or Hawaii?

I was a bit confused by your profile!
If it were me, I’d be in the ER or A&E where you should have an ultrasound to look for a blood clot. What you’re experiencing is not normal.
Please go right away.
