Warm defibulator site.

From day one, trouble. One night home,  next morning I felt sick, sick feeling in my head, then a cracking noise like a whip. 10x. Also the op sight hot every morning and other times during the day.

It has ruined my life. I may not be dead, but,  sometimes life is worse than death. I am getting mine turned off. I was dead and no-one asked if I wanted the thing. Not even contacted my family. PLAYING GOD.

Don't unloop

It seems a bit rash to ask for it to be turned off without telling your medics  about the problems you are having so that they understand and can at least attempt to resolve.

i don't think asking on here will get many advocates of  your  just turning off and dying, generally we tend to be in favour of life, and very grateful that we have been granted it.

Is it just an ICD?

If it's just an ICD it can be turned off, well, at least the part that shocks you and that by itself won't kill you.  What will kill you is if your heart goes into a nasty rythm or stops.  The ICD is there to shock you back to life. Again, that's if it's only an ICD (which I have).  If it's a pacemaker with ICD capabilities that would be different.   You need to communicate the issues your having to your doctors.

I am not asking anyone. I was under the impression that it was an open forum. Apart from that I was informed that the ICD can be turned of throught to magnetical head they use to readjust it.

Oh, OK then

Of course it is an open forum; anyone can post what they want. Equally it is open to anyone to respond.

If you don't want any responses, I don't understand why you are posting.

I am 100% pacemaker dependant and have been all my life. I try not to think about how a little metal box keeps me alive - it would drive me crazy. So I lead a very active life.
