Are there any other Law Enforcement members out there? Anybody have issues with their employers? Just asking out of curiosity. I am an NJ cop, SWAT operator, pacemaker implanted in 2013.

Don't ask, don't tell

I wouldn't mention it. You know how you feel. Why allow others to make a decision they may not be fully qualified to make when you bear the consequences?
DA DT

I know this is delayed but the DA DT is the route to follow. No reason to let them wade in on this and with the current hippa policies they really can't ask. I am not but know one on the job who doesn't speak of it. There are folks on the job who have had strokes, heart attacks etc and continue to work. No reason to deal with folks stumbling around trying to figure it out.

Employer issues

This is one of those things that is highly dependent on your departments specific policies. I know they go both ways. What you may try do as a back-up just in case is write a nice long, detailed description of your duties and have your Cardiologist affirm your pacemaker will not impact your ability to perform those duties. May not help. But couldn't hurt.
As for our law enforcement members, we have some but they may be off living life.
Good luck
