First, I am now 5 days post-op PM and 7 days post-op Watchman. I had a day of rest in the hospital between the two procedures. Both went really well except for the bruising up and down both arms, right groin and of course around the PM insertion site. I'm still getting such strange looks from people, I just tell them I'm recovering from a gunshot wound. LOL I was back in my room by around 2:30 and much to my surprise my Doc said, after going through all of the post-op instructions, I could be discharged and allowed to go to the Jimmy buffet concert that night! I really felt great considering all of the general anesthesia I had been given for the 2 procedures. Anyway, I guess my point is that first and most importantly, you eed to hanve a physician where there is mutual trust.. Second, know your body. No one knows how you feel, but you. If ihad not felt well enough to go, I would have stayed the extra day..
The only dissapointment has been that I am still very short of breathe when I walk or climb stairs. We thought that a PM would help but so far it hasn't. I guess my next stop will be with my pulmonologist in September.
I'm still taking it easy and finding it very hard to keep my left arm below my shoulder. Showers and dressing are a challenge but doable. We'll be leaving for Florida in another 2 days for the rest of the month. and follow up with Cardio doc and another TEE in early August.
Don't be nervous about this procedure! The Cath Lab folks really know what they're doing and bend over backwards to make sure that you are comfortable. They know that your anxious! Remember the difference between an adventure and an ordeal is attitude.!
I think that there's a place to post some pictures. If I find it I will post a few.

I'm not gonna ask how Buffett was because he's always great!!!! I lost count how many I've been to, but have rarely missed one since high school.
It's common to need to settings adjusted. They start with a good guess, then fine tune as the heart gets used to being paced and we get back to activity. Don't hesitate to call before your trip, see if they can check the settings before you go.
We all accidentally raise our arm when we're healing. Just gently raising it or doing it in your sleep won't hurt anything.
Keep up the great attitude!

I can't wait to give my son a run for his money again in the park again.
So, how was Buffet?

It's great that you did so well. I felt really well after, too, but because I was dependent, they kept me hostage for a night. As far as shortness of breath and stairs, it may be just a matter of an adjustment.
You're going to post pictures of your bruises? ;-)
BTW, great attitude! You'll do well.
