ICD, Roller Coaster

Hello!  I have an ICD by Medtronic implanted since 2016!  No problems so far.  I am wondering if I can go on a BIG, FAST Roller coaster!  More specifically, the ones at Cedar Point, Ohio!  I have already booked a tour of the park with my best friend this September.  I am more concerned about the ones using magnetic force to slow/speed the rides up and down.  My cardiologist who installed it said I should be ok but I did not mention the magnets with him.  I would HATE to have already booked a private Gold VIP tour with all the benifits this special once in a lifetime oppritunity has to offer only to discover that I will not be able to go on any of the BIG, FAST, coasters!

SO, do you think I will be fine?  Leads?  Device?  Magnets?  Any help will do!  Thanks Everyone!  Much love pacemaker / ICD brotheren!

...you plan on lying on the floor of the car , I would not worry about them. They are designed such the field is quite well conrtained & locaized where it is needed.  That is all under the car.

Newer models are better shielded....

The newer ICD's are better shielded which is how they are MRI compatible.  If your device is approved for MRI's you should be fine.  But my other thought is, if you had the ICD put in because of a heart condition why would you want to go on rides that could trigger the ICD?  But thats between you and your doctor and we all have our hopes and dreams, so if it's on your bucketlist.....

My cardiologist told me I could never ride a roller coaster again. I have complete heart block and St Jude dual lead pacer. No medications or anything. But he did mention the gravitational forces being the reason.

You know you're wired when...

You need to be re-booted each morning.
