I just had my pm battery replaced. Which, as you know, the doctor just changes out the entire device replacing it with a new one. The thing about my wound is it is itchy and I have just one little strip of adhesive over the incision area. Would it be okay for me to remove that tape. I noticed some dry hardened, almost blackish scabby crusts flaking off from inderneath the tape. . I only have two days before my new device check. I'm afraid of getting any type of topical infection.

Itching is a sign of healing and the scab is dried blood. I would leave it alone.
It will fall off in a few days or they may remove it at your appointment.
Picking a scab off not only allows infection IN, but makes the scar slightly bigger.
Let it be and ignore it. IMO
