You should feel just like you did before the device replacement

leads

Not quite sure what you're asking? Leads are generally tested but not changed unless it's necessary when they replace the battery. We can go through several batteries with one set of leads. If anything wasn't working properly, it would show up in the interrogation report and you'd feel like you did before you were paced.

I had an issue at the EOL of my last battery

The dr said it *flipped* before replacement. I guess that alert to say it is time to replace never happened so at a point the device kept working but not as well as before. I was fine and then I felt like it was impossible to walk from my desk to my car, forget stairs. It was pretty annoying but whatever it did kept me alive so that was the good news.

Lead Dislodged

Hi. I had an upgrade from a 1-lead to a 3-lead CRT device two months ago. Discharged same day. On the way home, I experienced 'hiccups' in the right side of my abdomen, just below my rib cage. I assumed that something had been irritated during surgery, and that it would settle soon. Over the next week the hiccups continued intermittently - never when lying down, but restarting, usually, when I was sitting having breakfast. Reclining in my seat caused them to stop. They weren't like proper hiccups, with an audible expiration, but were strong, rhythmic spasms. And then it dawned on me - they were synced to my heartbeat. My surgeon advised me to return for examination, and discovered that my 'A' lead was out of position, and was pacing my phrenic nerve. Surgery the following day repositioned it, and I remained in hospital overnight. Prior to discharge, it was discovered that the same lead had again become dislodged! In case the lead was faulty, it was replaced that day, and I left hospital the day after. To date, all is well. The really odd thing is that, during the week that the lead was out of position, I felt astonishingly better than I had for the previous year. I'm 62, and it was like being 22 again! Since the lead has been in place, however, I've felt OK, much better than before the upgrade, but not great. Still upright and breathing, though, so can't complain.
