CRT-D verses meds
I had a CRT-D implanted Dec 2016 after an electrical storm I was also put on 200 mg of ameoderon a day.
My question is isn't the Crt-d doing the same as meds why do I need both. Will the Crt-d keep my heart beating at the proper rate without the meds

One Dr tells me both then next Dr tells me the Crt will keep heart beating properly and shocked only if it doesnt which then puts heart back to regular rythem

their opinions aren't different, you aren't understanding what they say. TraceyE said it perfectly. Ameodarone is an anti arrhythmic drug, however it cannot synchronize the two ventricles, nor can it treat Fibrillation.
Your 2 ventricles are beating at different times whcih makes the heart less effective. By pacing both sides with a CRT that's waht they are doing is making them beat at the same time thereby making each beat twice as strong. The D part is for when/if you go into a fatal rhythm called fibrillation which is beating so fast it just quivers and blood does not get fed into the body.
The drugs are for rhythms whichcannot be treated by the CRT and can reduce or eliminate them.

The meds keep the heart from going too fast and from working too hard. The CRT makes sure the left and right ventricles stay in sync and make the heart go faster if it's too slow. The defib is the emergency back up plan if the meds don't keep you out of a dangerous rhythm, it'll shock you back into a normal rhythm if needed.
