Relax an enjoy. The surgery isn't a big deal, nor is the recovery.
To answer your question, I was ready to go back to work the next day, and would have if I'd gotten out of the hospital earlier. Since I'm now pacemaker dependent, they kept me overnight. I did go back to work on the Wednesday, after the Monday procedure.
I recommend getting a sling for your arm, not so much because it hurts, rather the opposite. At least I needed to be reminded not to use the arm. It hurt when I did but I found myself reaching with my left arm - a no-no for the first month or so. This one worked really well:

As far as driving goes, my EP said "no-way", for a week after. It's been three months now and my shoulder is still a little sensitive to touch but I have absolutely no restricted motion in that shoulder/arm.
Just go with the flow. You'll do fine!
You know you're wired when...
You have rhythm.

Everyone's different. Some feel ready to go a day or two later, some struggle for a week or two. Also depends what kind of work you do, you'll be back at a desk job faster than a physical job. Do you have the option of trying a half day Thursday and see how it goes?
Driving, ask your doctor. Some limit it for a week or more, depending on why we need it.
