Mine lasted about a week! Been 2 and a half weeks since inplant but so far not bad. I had that coughing in my sleep, I am also on CPAP but I was getting that coughing sometimes for at least a year before my Pacemaker! GOOD LUCK!
So TRUE Tracy! I messed up at Tractor Supply just one week after getting the Pacemaker!

I was struggling to lift a 30-pound bag of Puppy Food into a Shopping Cart! My Shoulder HURT pretty GOOD for next 2-days! BIG Dummy me, lifting that 30-pound bag plus bringing the arm up HIGH above the Shoulder. Luckily when I got the shopping cart to the rear of my car. a BIG Younger Guy probably like 25-years younger than me was coming out of the store. So I called over and he walked over and I explained that I just got a Pacemaker a week ago and am not supposed to be lifting that much weight! He said NO problem and just snatched that 30-lb bag up out of that shopping cart and laid it in the trunk! Then I told him THANK YOU and that was that! Waited until the Mrs. got home from work and she carried it in the house for the Poochie! Like I said, in the store, I just simply FORGOT!!!!

I just had my surgery on Thursday and am already forgetting not to lift heavy things!!! It is such an adjustment from my regular life! I just try to use my right hand to do anything. Very hard to hold a bag of soil with one arm! But I am managing well.
Luckily I work in an office setting so I was able to go back to work 2 days after my surgery with no problem.
Best of luck to all!

Yesterday was my first day mountain biking after my implant. I wiped out several times and everything is fine. There are sports after pacemakers!

Ice,ice and more ice! Ice is your friend the next couple of days. Everyone is different but most of us feel significantly better within a few days. I was back to my regular schedule a week later, just moving a bit more slowly and napping more often.
Don't raise it high or lift heavy, otherwise try to use the arm normally as soon as you feel up to it so your shoulder doesn't freeze.
