Ablation

I had an ablation last November and it was only partially effective.   My doctor/EP recommends another ablation although he says it's optional.  I'm very active in sports and it's really a lifestyle decision. The EP says the risks are minimal and he thinks he can fix it, ie. eliminate the A Fib.

Any comments from ablatees?

Another ablation

I’m a newbie too and had an ablation but it was very close to my av node and it actually burned it out and 4 days later I had to get a pace maker. Check to see how close the ablation is to the node. Like I said, it fixed mine but unfortunately it did too good a job. Good luck with your decision.

I haven't had an ablation but the link below written by Dr John Mandrola, an EP in Louisville, has some good advice;

The main message is that lifestyle measures such as weight loss can reverse AF in many cases. And it can also increase the chances of being free of AF after an ablation.
