Hi all, I will try to keep my posting as small as possible as I vent my concerns and appeal for help.
I have had an attack of ill feeling (skipped beats) in my chest and was concerned enough to go to the hospital as they became more frequent and repeatative over a 48 hour period. I could feel an irregular pulse and became concerned. I am only pacing 5 or 6% of the time, having the pacer inserted 6 months ago. The hospital took bloods after assessing my vitals. All looked good except for the irregular beats. The pacermaker tech checked me over and the pacer is fine. I know that my technician may read this so please - don't take offence - I am just concerned and want more opinions! I had at least 8 irregular beats as the pacer was analysed. My major concern is that I was (am ) having more irregular beats now than I was at my last visit. The hospital sent me home and told me that I am just more "sensitive" to the irregularities now. I went to see a cardiologist and he said the same. I had an echocardiogramme which confirmed excellent heart function. The cardicologist also said that he would never have put a pacemaker in me. I was diagnosed with complete heart block and the surgery was advised by another Cardiologist. ??? How does that make me feel! I have had a little difficulty ( as we do) coming to terms with having an implant and now this! I am happy to accept that I may have become more "sensitive" to my extra PAC's but why have they increased? I have modified my diet and have now removed any caffiene, tried to live a more calm and stress free life and still I have trouble. Am I turning into a neurotic patient or is something really going on???? If any one has had a similar problem or has any advice I would be greatful.
Kind regards,
