Percentage

How much you pace is how much you pace. It's neither a bad sign nor a good one. It has to do with what your settings are, your activity level, and of course how many of your heartbeats are being supplied by your heart on it's own. Change any of those things, the percentage paced changes.

Functionally, in terms of your experience, there is no difference between being paced at say 35% and 70% or 100%. What you want is a pacemaker that paces when your heart needs for it to, and doesn't when it's not needed. No matter the percentage, you won't feel any different.

I've seen my own percentage go up, and down, and up, and down, and now it's close to 100% again.

I think it's normal to fear that an increased percentage means our condition is getting worse. And in truth, it may be. But so what? It only means, it's a good thing we already have a pacemaker, because now we need one even more than we did. :-)

At least that's how I look at it.

Pacing

I have a dual lead PM. I am paced at 100% and always have been since it was fitted 15 months ago. I don't know any different. I feel fine.

I had mine fitted as I collapsed a few times over the space of 4 days. No prior illness, basically hit me from nowhere. My signals went from perfect to next to nothing in 4 days, nobody knows why but there ya go.

I still do everything I did before the PM, work full time, Hiking , Motorcycling etc etc.

   Hope this helps.

   Best wishes
