Pacemaker Extreme Activity

So, I have a question... I am 60 and had my pacemaker implanted in 2014 for bradycardia. I would like to know if anyone has participated in an extreme activity such as riding in a 4 man bobsled? It's just something I'm thinking about doing. Kind of like when I rode a mechanical bull at 50. Thanks.

pushing the limits

I've done a mechanical bull and a 4 person boblsed on the summer track at Utah Olympic Park. If 1 is an easy workout, 10 is pushing the limits to the max. I'd say the bull was a 4-5, my usual Crossfit workout is a 6-7, bobled was a 9 1/2. That's the first time I did something and thought I was probably pushing it about as far as I should. No regrets, lol, but I had a moments thought when I got off that maaaaaaybe I'd pushed it to far.

Summer sled is wheels on a concrete track, goes 60mpg, 4G, takes about 1 minute. Winter track is on ice so smoother, goes faster and isn't as bumpy.

Seat 1 is the driver. Seat 4 is the back and bumpiest, gets tossed around the most. I was in seat 3, my daughter was in 2. She's 5'2" and was tucked in nicely. I'm taller than her at 5'6" and seat 3 might be a little higher. When you get in, you put your hands through loops just under the edge of the sled and brace forearms on the side, then sit up straight and shrug your shoulders to support the neck. My upper arm was along the edge of the sled, had bruises for weeks. My daughter had none (I called dibs on seat 2 for the next ride lol). My head got bumped out of position on one of the turns and it took all my strength to get straight again.

If you have any back/neck problems, don't do it. If you have anything else going on with the heart or blood pressure issues, don't do it. If your pacer is less than a year old, wait. It's a wild ride, totally exhilarating and I loved it, but I was pretty wobbly and my heart rate was sky high when we got off. My daughter, otoh, was ready to go do it again. We asked the driver if anyone ever got sick, he said oh yeah. We're planning to do the winter track when I visit spring break. (daughter goes to college in the area and works there)

Wow, Seriously, I really didn't think I'd hear from anyone. This is great to know especially about seat placement. I've been looking into the Whistler, BC Sliding Center from the 2010 Olympics. The reason I was asking was because they have a list of things that prevent participation and another list which makes it questionable and  heart issues was listed in the second list anyway thank you for the information and have a happy 2018.

I've seen many posts about people being concerned about exercise after having a device so thought I would let you know that yesterday I raced my first marathon since having my pacemaker fitted in fall 2004.
