This has been a sad week for pacemakerclub members in regard to losing members. I also experienced an unexpected loss when my husband of 44 years collapsed and suddenly died today. There are no words to describe the pain of this. I was the one with the heart problems...not him. I guess we never know what lies ahead for us.
Please hug those close to you and express your love for them. And don't take anything for granted!!!
Love you,
Suze

Hello,
I'm so sorry to hear of your loss..and can relate to your pain. My mom died last May of pancreatic cancer. She was sick only a short while and never told anyone. My dad on the otherhand had all the health issues..including a pacemaker. They were married 53 years. My mother was also 13 years younger than my dad. Mom devoted her life to taking care of my dad and when she died..none of us were expecting it. I'm now taking care of my father...but he has decided not to have his battery replaced in his pacemaker. I'm honoring his decision and looking to just keeping him comfortable. What I was trying to say is....you are right in saying you never know what will happen in life. Things can change in a blink of an eye. The death of my mom..has taught me so much. I now look at spring this year as a new beginning...and am appreciating things much more. My prayers are w/ you, Suze. If you ever just want to talk..my email is: oozus43@yahoo.com Friends can help very much at a time like this....Love Betsey

Suze,
2 years ago I found my wife of 48 years who had died during a noon nap. Even though we had some warning it is still a major change in life. Only you know what works the best for you in dealing with the loss. The only thing that seems to be consistently helpful is to take your time and don't make unnecessary decisions until things settle down.

I do know what you're going through Suze. I lost my husband 15 years ago today. We had been married 17 years. Of course you are numb. Please accept my sincerest condolences. Treat yourself gently let those who love you help you through the next months. Everyone here is already sending you love and support.

I'm so sorry for your loss. It's tough enough when we know a loved one is failing, but when they go so suddenly, it's so traumatic.
My ex husband/best friend/constant had a stroke 2 years ago at age 53. I still grieve as do our 2 grown kids. It happened so fast and we never got to say goodbye or anything.
Heartfelt prayers going from my heart to you and your family. I wish there was something I could do to ease your pain.
