I was fitted with a pacemaker 3 weeks ago. Since then, I get sudden sharp pains in my chest and back area. These pains start at the same time each night, around 10.00pm and last intermittently for about 5 minutes. When I got my first checkup with the Cardiologist, I mentioned to the technician about getting this pain, he was able to emulate the paiin via his computer. I would like to know if anyone else had this problem?

One week has passed and I must admit that each day I feel a little stronger.
Probably the pacemaker self-check

Your pacemaker is programmed to do a self-check usually at the same time once a day.
This involves slight changes in voltage and a brief increase in heart-rate . The fact that the technician i) could reproduce it and ii) is not particularly worried by it would also suggest that it is the self-check process.
If it really bothers you, it may be possible to alter the PM settings to reduce the level of temporary discomfort.
When you have had your PM for some time the self-check function is often turned off.
Best of luck
Ian
