So I got my PM on December 1. From my point of view all is going well with the healing and lots more energy. It seems my doctors' advice for the last two years to have this done were right.
I am going in for my first device check in a week. I am not worried but have no idea what questions I should be asking. With all the experience and excellent prior advice from this group I thought I might get a step ahead of the game.

What to ask

A few things to ask would include: what is the % of pacing on each lead, what is the low and high settings and could the low setting be possibly lowered if you are set for 60 or higher, have there been any "events" since the placement that would be of concern, if the PM records PVC's how many are you experiencing, what is the remaining battery life, ask the EP to tell you what is "rate response" and it's on or off and why.
I think that would be fine for your first checkup.
Because I have good insurance I always go to my EP "pacemaker pam" for my check up instead of just sending in a transmission

Sometimes a device must be tuned a few times before it is right. My cardiologist said it is like fine tuning a car.

Hi neighbor, I had my PM implanted in DC. Ask for a copy of your PM report. You can study it and save it for later PM checks to see whats changing.
