With a Pacemaker can I safely use an infrared sauna. Googling it various different replies come up. Does anyone actually know that it is is okay. It is suggested that the mechanisms used in the in the construction of the infrared sauna can interfere with pacemakers.
Information/experiences very welcome.
Thank you all.

A properly implanted and adjusted pacemaker will not even be noticeable after you get over the surgery.
It's about the heat--not the mechanism

Exposure to sustained heat, whether through sauna, hot tub, or just vigorous exercise when the temperature is over 80 is not recommended for any heart patient, pacemaker or not.
I expect that actual heat tolerance varies from individual to individual. I can't even walk the dog when the temp is over 80. It's just too draining.
Until you know for sure how you react, I would suggest you never go into the sauna alone. If you become faint, you might not be able to get yourself out. By the time the automatic timer turns the sauna off, it could be too late.
