recall of St. Jude pacemaker

Anybody have any  information about this.  I just recieved a St. Jude pacemaker in Israel and read on line that there is a recall because of hacking.

not a recall

If you scroll down, this has come up several times this week. The devices are not being recalled, some of them just need a software update.

You can call the Patient Records Department phone number on the back of your Patient ID Card.

Did it last night...confirm your name, model number, and serial number with them and you get a yes or no. Only takes a few minutes.

Tracey is correct, it is a software update not a recall.

Rest assured, you only need to worry when you are recalled...

Firmware

There's also a very slight risk that the firmware update itself could cause an issue. For totally dependent patients (like me), the hacking threat is less of an issue. Both issues so remote, I'm keeping the status quo and not going to worry about it. Doctor agrees.

You know you're wired when...

“Batteries not included” takes on a new meaning.
