Plane Engine

This may seem to be a bizarre question, but I am an airline employee that had a crt-d implanted 4 weeks ago. I am still on medical leave and a coworker called me asking the following question. As an agent, we drive the jet bridge to the aircraft and the engines are running while we are waiting for clearance to proceed. Will this be safe for my pacemaker? I also need to be able to lift 70 pounds. Are we able to do these two functions safely? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. As always, this group of individuals are very informative and we all learn from each other. Thank you from us "newbies".

You should be able to lift the weight if you could before...But they may ask you to hold off a little longer.  Not sure why the jet would be an issue, generally it is strong electrical fields jobs like welding and power line work that are of concern.  Even if the jet or the starter were operating I assume you would not be standing close enough to it if it even created such fields.  But this is a new one on me, I dont know if anyone has asked about jet engines before (Again I dont know where there would be a problem, call the company that made your pacer see what they say).

It may be the first time we've felt a normal heart rhythm in a long time, so of course it seems too fast and too strong.
