My husband is being fitted for new hearing aids. The one recommended has a streamer with an electromagnetic wire hanging around you neck. Does anyone currently use a hearing aid with a streamer and have you had any problems with using. The hearing aid recommended is a Phonak model Audeo B90-R.

.. try contacting the hearing aid manufacturer, they should be able to provide guidance regarding suitability of their products for recipients (or patients) with pacemakers.

...(actually twice) had those Phonak devices, courtesy of the Veterans' Admin hearing aid system. A friend also used them. They were NOT worth the effort. He was even a tester for the VA in the use & practicality of the devices. Both of us concluded that they were not worth the annoyance of lugging them around.
That was all from trhe hearing aid perspective.
I had a PM when I got my first one - zero effect on my PM & I wore the wire hanging right over the device. Ditto for the second one. A royal PITA to use.
The device will eventually be relegated to the dresser top drawer.

I have a streamer for my hearing aid, wear a cochlear implant and have a new pacemaker.
No problem at all. Enjoy the streamer.

magnets

The magnetic field required to affect a pacemaker switch is quite strong and the magnets used in hearing aids would not affect the operation. In fact, my wife once piled 36 refrigerator magnets on my device trying to pull the perfect crime and was disappointed, alright that part's not true but still the point is you guys worry too much about magnetic fields.
I would suggest for your own comfort, email or phone your husband's pacemaker manufacturer and ask. Unless of course you are hoping as my wife did this could be the perfect crime.
