I have a pacemaker implanted 3/10/17 following open heart surgery on 3/7/17 for aortic valve replacement and ascending aneurysm repair. The implant was due to complete heart block, unexpected and shocking to me. I am still having issues with it.
As of this morning I was still having a good amount of palpitations (regular) ones and my pacemaker was set at 80-150. This is after 3 previous adjustments. I went to the clinic again and she said that my own sinus rhythm was now competing with the pacer and that was causing the palpitations. She turned the device down to 60-150. I felt like a new woman when leaving that clinic today.
Fast forward to a few hours later, I was resting and the palpitations began again with a vengeance. Counting my resting heart rate at almost 100! And I feel worse than ever. Does anyone have experience with this?
