Does anyone feel like they need an adjustment when they gain weight? I gained 10 pounds in 6 months and I feel terrible. I'm working on losing it but I'd like to know if weight gain/loss plays a roll in pm function. I've had my pacemaker 2 years, I'm 34 years old and I have two kids to keep up with.

The disease, not the device

Many of us tend to blame our devices for problems when the problem is actually created by the disease, not the device. Heart problems, electrical or plumbing, often times cause us to slow down. We simply can not be as active as we previously were - not all, but a lot.
If you are not getting the some level of exercise as you were, and are consuming the same amount of food, you are going to gain weight. One or the other needs to change....

You know you're wired when...
Your device acts like a police scanner.

At age 20, I will be getting a pacemaker in few weeks along with an SA node ablation. This opportunity may change a five year prognosis into a normal life span! I look forward to being a little old lady with a wicked cane!

the pacemaker only affects the electrical system of the heart. It normalizes or controls the abberent beats or rates etc.
if you are any heart medications, some of those can cause weight gain.
beta blockers make it very easy to gain weight.
