Hi,
My device is 6-1/2 years old, and the device has just given me the characteristic warning sound (foreign ambulance sound) that it's time to replace the battery. Today is Sunday, Jan. 15, 2017, and I will call my cardiologist tomorrow. Does anyone know the "time-window" (following the warning) that I have before the battery runs too low? Is the window about 30 days, approx?
Thanks!

I am no expert, but I believe that without the defibrillator that I have, I would be dead.
Changing the Medtronic - ConsultaCRT-D Defibrillator

I read the comment by AngrySparrow seconds before a Medtronic tech and my cardiologist checked me out! In view of the extreme age of my current device, my cardiologist decided that it's better to replace the device "sooner than later". I'll be interviewd by my original surgeon two days from now. A 'convenient' surgery date will be set, and I'll receive info on what needs to be done before the actual surgery. (Like, stopping the Warfarin so many days in advance, etc.)
Thanks to this Pacemaker Club for easing my emotional concerns!
