My Medtronic crt/icd starting beeping at 9:00 pm this morning. It has gone off 6 times since than. The last two times it made me feel dizzy. Since this is Sat. no one to call about it. My info says it could mean battery status, status of leads ( which mine are being watched due to Sarcoid inflamation surrounding them). Or I'm have a number of thereapies being detected. It is quite upsetting, sounds like a police car in England! Any ideas out there?

Thank you for your concern. I did her from the hospital later yesterday. I'm lucky to go to Brigham Womens hospital in Boston. They did get the alert from the system and seem to feel it has to do with my bad leads. I will hear from them on Monday and we will decide from there. Not looking forward to lead replacement, of course BWH is the best place to be. It may be anxiety that makes me get dizzy, once you have gone through defibrillation (which I have had 7 shocks) you do get more fearful. I try to tell myself it is doing it's job. And yes it sent me 7 alerts yesterday and two so far today. Like my husband says in regard to his hearing aids, "They are a aid not a cure", so it goes with pacemaker/icd. I'm at peace with what ever comes my way.

Thought I would give update. Ended up with new Medtronic sure scan MRI heart failure pacemaker with defibrillation. Had best doctor in country Dr. Epstein at Brigham womens hospital do it. A little sore around site, but I can tolerate it. My leads where infected with scaring from my cardiac Sarcoidosis. Hope this one will last the full 7-8 years.I think he also moved it up higher and over a little, made the pocket deeper. If you want to see that surgery done you can go to Brigham Womens Hospital and search pacemaker lead removal. Half way down the page you will see the note about Dr. Epstein performing the surgery. Great hospital and doctors, nurses. Stayed 2 nights and feel a little sore at site.

Pacemakers are very reliable devices.

So from what I've read on the site, it's the ICD making the sound, not pacemaker. Will have to call on Monday and see what to do.
