I have had a Boston Scientific PM for 3 + years. The last few months I seem to "run out of gas " when I do cardio exercise . I went in to see the pacer tech and he turned on the setting that will increase my heartrate when my respiration increase. This was yesterday. What I am noticing is a sore spot in my left armpit when I move my arm in certain positions. I am wondering if I am sensing the new mode or whether it is just a muscular thing. Has anyone experienced this? Also has anyone experienced an increase in exercise tolerance after having this setting turned on ?
I had previosly had the "rate response
setting on but I didn't like the way it made me feel when I went over bumps so that is why I am trying this option.
Would appreciate any input.
Bonnie

Yesterday I moved to a new place in my mind and realized how bad I felt 'before' and the difference my pacemaker has made.

I am unable to give you specifics because my original comment was 3 years ago and I have forgotten details. But I do remember that I went to the pacer tech a few times about this issue. I would advise you to make another appointment with the pacer tech and have notes as to what you are feeling and when. I do know that I was finally "tuned up" to my satisfaction. I am always amazed at how many ways my pacemaker can be adjusted.
Good luck!
