Some have alarms, some do not. There are two phases at the end, elective replacements which is approx 90 days, then after that is end of service, when it has limited function, which is another 90 days. All dates are guesses! I've had one year estimates but 6 months later it was ready for replacement. Another one went more than 2 years from the time we thought one year. They generally check it more often as we get closer, then when it gets to elective replacement, pick a date and get it done. Super easy! I'm on my 5th.

A pacemaker completely solved my problem. In fact, it was implanted just 7 weeks ago and I ran a race today, placed first in my age group.
