Hello, It's been a long time since I was at the site--
In Dec 2006 I got my new Medtronic Adapta. Things have been great. I had a pacemaker checkup 4 weeks after in implant, everything was great. I was told with this pacemaker I would have it checked every six months. Well, that was in July, and I had 19 episodes of SVT. My doctor did not like the results and had the rep could to his office and have a recheck. Now I'm on a Beta Blocker(hate the side effects) again and back to 3 month check ups. Has anyone else had this happen?

Go To an EP

I had been told by my cardiologist that I had SSS also and had some SVT's. He had me on beta blockers and I hated it. They were always tweaking the pm and I had no idea what was going on. After he wanted to double the dose and I hesitated he sent me to an EP. He took me off the meds, cranked my pacer up to 70 as the lower rate and I have been much better. Still have some symptoms once in awhile but much better. A second opinion can't hurt you.

It's much better to live with a pacemaker than to risk your life without one.

I had my pm for two weeks and then my SVT came right back. I had another ablation two months after having my pm. I wish you luck. Keep us updated on what happens. If you have any questions just send me a private message.
