does any one know about regugitation?

Hi all. God bless all the wonderful people here. Its been a while for me....sorry. But i was just wondering if any of u know anything regarding tricuspid regurgitation and pulmonary regurgitation. I was looking at my medical records that i recently got from my doc and there was a time that i had an echo about a year ago and it said that i had moderate tricuspid regugitation and pulmonic valve regugitation. I guess i am asking because i was never told by any of my docs that i had this problem until i saw it in my records. It also says that another time i had an xray that showed hyperinflated lungs!!! Weird!!! I dont know anything about this. Does any one know if this could affect my heart further? I have a pacemaker and lots of pvcs. i know a little about heart murmurs but dont know if this is considered to be one and if it is...then why did the echo say: no evidence of pfo?(patent foramen ovale). sorry if im asking too much. Thanks in advance for all your help. And by the way i love the new member gallery. I posted my pic...enjoy!hahaha.

Regurgitation

The only thing I have been told about regurgitation is that when the heart pumps the valves open to allow the blood through. If there is a problem with the valve some blood will regurgitate back to the previous chamber. Hence the word regurgitation. I have mvp, Tricuspid regurgitation ( mine is trace) and pulmonic(also trace), in addition I have a dual chamber pacemaker because of a severe av block. I would talk to your doctor and ask him about your report. I also have pvc's my EP says all is well, that everyone has pvc's, again I would talk it over with your doctor. I'm new to this site, just 1 month post-op. Good Luck. hope I've helped some.

Me Too

I have moderate to severe regurgitation of my mitral valve and tricuspid valve. Have to get echos every 6 months. Found out about 6 years ago when I went for my first over 50 stress test, holter monitor (SVT) and echo. Mine started in the mild stage, 2 years later to moderate and not 2 years later moderate/severe but not bad enough yet to warrant repair or replacement. I am taking a beta blocker for the SVT which the doc says is because of the leaking mitral valve. I also have a dual chamber Pacemaker which was implanted in July due to complete heart block (which went away). Check out valvereplacement.com Great source of information there on valve problems. Hope it's okay to mention another website here.

Hi,

I'm not sure about your pulmonary regurgitation, but the tricuspid can be because this is the valve that the pacemaker wires go though from the right atrium to the right ventricle. They keep it from closing completely. Many people also have MVP which is very common.
Hope this helps.
Best to you,
