Left arm swollen and pain after the Amplia MRI™ Quad CRT-D device

Diagnosed August 2010 w/ Postpartum Cardiomyopathy (commonly referred to as Peripartum Cardiomyopathy. EF was at 6% then. Fast forward to today, relapsed in December 2015 from getting sick at work. I got strep throat one week and 7 days later bronchitis. Went to the ER EF was at 20%. Took 3 mos off work and EF only increased to 25%. Was advised seek second opinion regarding my labs and cardiologist sent me to a Cardiac Electrophysiologist. He agreed w/ said findings told me I was a high risk for sudden death put me on a LifeVest and said I needed a ICD. Well hubby was w/ me and use to work for Medtronic (laid off - he works for a better company now) and worked on the ICD's so he was able to calm my nerves as the Electrophysiologist explained what was going to happen next.

Had the implant but my left arm is swollen two sizes too big! I have joint pain and back pain. I asked about this before I left the hospital was told his would resolve itself after a week, well no it did not! Went to the ER ran out of pain meds and was in horrific pain! Ran test and said no infection believe the nurse blew my vain twice and hit a nerve. This would take weeks to recover from. Well...I have pain meds for a whole week and the pain is beyond measure! They say I can go back to work...it hurts to move my bloody arm! I see my Electrophysiologist next week first then my cardiologist. I'm not sure what else to say or do but I'm in pain. Anyone experienced this?

Ask for a PET scan to rule out an infection. My pacemaker became infected, but I never had a fever, or red around the site- I only had pain and some swelling.
