Hello, I am new to the group. I am on my second pacemaker due to my heart rate and blood pressure dropping which causes me to pass out. I have not had any real trouble with either one before. But this morning I woke up and have had pain off and on around the pace make site and my ribs in that area. It hurts when I take big breathes or move too much. I have not done anything that I can think of that would have caused a muscle strain. Any idea what it may be? Thanks!

Syncope - Fainting with PM
by djohnston - 2016-05-15 01:05:03
I am 57 yr old female with a St Jude PM2270 which was implanted in July 2013. Although I am under cardiologist care, my comments in regard to: fatigue (I sleep 12 hours a day or I can't keep my eyes open), I have electrical impulse pain in the area of the PM and down my left arm with tingling in fingers of left hand. I also have fainting episodes with the most recent one this past Thursday. I collapsed on the pavement, banging my head and was rushed to the ER. A St. Jude rep read my PM and stated that their were no episodes during my fainting. What is odd though is that every time that I have my PM read, they ask me what were you doing on such and such a date/time, your heart was racing, or that there is background noise. My cardiologist has also said that my heart skips. I looked up my device on the FDA recall sight and found some interesting information about my PM. It hasn't been recalled, but there are several incidents on the record. Any feedback about St. Jude PM?
