Hello,
I had my PM replaced on March 25th and also experienced arm pain. Mine was in the upper arm where the deltoid and bicep muscles meet. I ended up with bruises in that area about 2 weeks after surgery, and it took another week or two for the bruises to fade.
This is my third PM and I do not remember having arm pain or bruises in the past. My PM is placed in a pocket in my muscle. The surgeon had to excavate the old PM and expand the pocket, as my new PM is about a centimeter larger. I'm not sure if this had anything to do with the arm pain... I thought it was odd how much my arm hurt, much more so than the actual incision site. Maybe they had to put my arm in an unusual position for a while? Or perhaps the positioning of my arm during surgery aggravated a tendon or muscle?
The pain went away for a while but returned over the weekend. I might call the doctor if it doesn't go away by Friday.
I hope your arm feels better soon!
